The mission of the Greater Cincinnati Urban League is to transform generations by promoting personal empowerment and economic self-sufficiency. Serving individuals of the Greater Cincinnati Metropolitan Area our Workforce Development department is comprised of three separate workforce development tracks and focuses on three primary employment funding priorities: financial sustainability and job-readiness training, specialized industry specific training, and public benefits/work supports that assist in accessing and obtaining public benefits. The Urban League’s job readiness programs provide services that include assessments, targeted referrals, training and educational interventions that increase the participant’s ability to obtain and maintain employment. The entry point for all program participants begins with an information session where individuals meet privately with Urban League staff to determine the program that best fits their needs.

Our Workforce Development programs consist of:

  • Solid Opportunities for Advancement and Retention (SOAR)
  • Accelerated Customer Service Education Program (ACE)
  • Employment Connections (EC)
  • Construction Connections (CC)
  • Financial Opportunity Center(FOC)
  • Suit Yourself Gentlemen’s Closet (SYS)
  • Avondale Choice Neighborhood (ACN)
