Jeanette Shoecraft has served as Chief Financial Officer for the Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio for the past three years. Prior to being CFO, Jeanette worked two years as a part-time Entrepreneurial Coach at the League.

Jeanette is an accounting professional with 30 previous years of working in very diverse environments. At the University of Cincinnati she served as CFO/Associate Athletic Director. During her tenure at the university, she managed and coordinated the daily, short-term and long-term performance of the business, personnel and payroll operations. Jeanette created and managed the $39 million department budget representing 30 units and oversaw a 179-percent budget growth during her 10 years. Additionally, Jeanette was the department liaison with legal for contract negotiations, providing financial information and ensuring all financial obligations were met.

Jeanette began her career as a staff assistant with Ernst and Young LLP, working for medium to large sized clients in manufacturing, financial institutions and not-for-profit organizations. Jeanette later worked at such companies as the Drackett Company, Hamilton County State Bank and US Bank Corporation (formally Star Bank Corp.). She has been self-employed, where she provided consultant services in accounting, tax and audit services for colleges and universities, municipalities, school districts, not-for-profit entities and small businesses. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from the University of Cincinnati.

Jeanette also enjoys giving back to her community. She has worked and served as an officer with the Neighborhood Development Corporation Association of Cincinnati, the Vision of Hope Outreach Center, and the Wyoming Youth Services Bureau. Additionally, Jeanette has served on numerous Wyoming City School Board of Education committees and is an active member and former national officer of the College Athletic Business Management Association.  She is a former officer and founding member of the National Association of Black Accountants Cincinnati Chapter and Ohio Society of CPA’s Black Executive Council.

Jeanette enjoys watching all sports, but especially likes tennis and basketball and spending time with her family.
