Founded in 1949 to build opportunities and level the playing field for African Americans and others, the Urban League of Greater Cincinnati is a private, 501(c)(3) corporation and a local affiliate of the National Urban League. The Urban League is a United Way supported agency and benefits from board representation from business, labor, education, service professions and media.

The Urban League is headquartered on a main public transportation line along the Reading Road corridor in Avondale, and is both accessible and convenient to area residents and commuters. Additionally, the Urban League offers a modern facility and classrooms featuring a state-of-the-art computer lab and a recently added state-of-the art 50-seat Customer Contact Center, capable of employing up to 150 individuals in three shifts. Free parking is available to those with personal transportation.
Over the course of more than six decades, Urban League has established a distinguished track record of effectively providing job training, youth development, advocay, and economic empowerment programs to strengthen communities. We are supported by equal percentages of revenues from earned income, government grants, corporate and foundation grants and donations from individuals.
