The Program Manager/Job Developer is responsible for supervision and management of program staff and participants. This individual will be responsible for coordination and implementation of Life Ready program elements that include classroom instruction, participant support & job placement services, and employer cultivation. This individual will work closely with the Workforce Development team in order to advance the ULGSO mission of “transforming generations by promoting personal empowerment and economic self-sufficiency.”


  1. Provide day to day management and supervision for assigned WFD training program(s) and staff.
  2. Manage and operate program(s) in compliance with affiliated contracts ensuring all performance measures and reporting requirements are met and/or exceeded.
  3. Perform QI assessments regularly to measure program(s) and curricula effectiveness. Implement program enhancements as needed.
  4. Coordinate and schedule training activities with collaborators and WFD staff to ensure program deliverables are met.
  5. Facilitate WFD program(s) as needed using active learning methods that accommodate different learning styles.
  6.  Assist participants in group and individual training settings to foster the development of knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to gain employment.
  7.  Familiarize participants with the online application process, creating email addresses and other     basic computer operations.
  8. Help participants develop an effective resume. Teach participants effective interview tips, techniques and styles.
  9. Develop new and maintain existing employer partnerships the meeting, email and telephone correspondence.
  10.  Conduct one on one sessions with participants to facilitate job placement, retention and follow up activities.
  11. Update client information and program outcomes in Trax, ETO, and other data reporting systems.
  12. Attend funder, community and/or industry meetings to stay informed of changes within the program(s) and contracts.
  13. Provide direct supervision of staff, including reviews, developing goals, and establishing professional development plans.
  14. Complete staff evaluations utilizing Success Factors.
  15. Represent the Urban League at selected public and committee boards, and forums with a high level of professionalism.
  16. Assist AVP with budget preparations for assigned programs as well as monitoring program billings and expenditures.
  17. Perform other agency-related projects and, duties as assigned.


1.  BA preferred or minimum 5 years of experience in training and development.

2.  Experience in program management, design, delivery and staff supervision.

3.  Knowledge of private, local, state, and federal agencies involved in training and workforce    development programs.

4.   Excellent written and oral communication skills

5.   Demonstrated ability and experience working with diverse populations.

6.   Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software applications.

7.   Display high level of professionalism and integrity.

8.   Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and insurance.

9.   Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
