How can we improve the overall health of our communities?

 

The mission of the Urban League of Greater Cincinnati’s Department of Health Initiatives is to address the health disparities affecting the under-served communities of Greater Cincinnati and improving their quality of life, through research-based education programs centering on prevention, and intervention.

The Sickle Cell Awareness Group is an affiliate of the Urban League of Greater Cincinnati. For more than 30 years, the Sickle Cell Awareness Group has been dedicated to advocating for those in the community who are affected by the Sickle Cell Disease, as well as educating the public about Sickle Cell Disease.

The mission of the Sickle Cell Awareness Group is to promote and nurture coping skills, self sufficiency, and healthy lifestyles among affected families and individuals and to provide information about Sickle Cell Disease.
